Flights & Accommodation Recommendations

From what we know after doing our own research and visiting the island ourself, here is some useful information and recommendations that we can make for you.

Flights

Santorini is such a small island so most of the airlines only fly out to Santorini a couple of times a week.

We have been told that only roughly 70% of the flights have been released at the moment (May '24) and the rest will be released up until August (usually 100% of flights are released 12 months prior).

At the moment we have found the best prices for flights are with Jet2 direct and these airports fly out as follows:

Birmingham - Tuesdays & Fridays (We would recommend this airport if you'd like to stay for a week and fly Tues - Tues, as we get married on a Friday. This is the flight we have chosen.)

Stansted - Wednesdays & Sundays (We would recommend this airport of you'd like to stay for 4 nights as it works well with the wedding on the Friday in the middle of your stay.)

East Midlands - Jet 2 have not released any flights yet.

Tui have flight options from Birmingham & East Midlands that fly on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays. Although these flights are very slightly more expensive.

If you are looking for white roof tops, blue topped churches and views for days then Oia is the place for you!

If you'd like to have a romantic long weekend and fly Weds - Sun, adults only, we would highly reccommend staying here. The views are just spectacular and there is plenty to see and do around this area.

Our top recommendation for Oia is -

Pearl of Caldera Boutique

(the reason it is more pricey is because there is a gorgeous roof top infinity pool)

There are not many hotels in Oia that have outdoor pools, most only have small hot tub/plunge pools as they are nestled right in the side of the mountain.

There are lots of other beautiful villas and hotels a little more inland of Oia that are walking distance to the main center that are worth looking at too that are a bit more budget friendly, you will just be sacrificing waking up to the caldera view.

Top recommendation for inland hotels still in Oia is -

Domes Novos Santorini

Oia

Kamari & Perissa
Accommodation

Kamari is the town that we will be staying in between 26th August - 2nd September with our family.

We are staying at the beautiful hotel -

'Kastelli Resort Santorini'

We are happy for other guests, especially the bridal party, to stay in this hotel with us if they wish to, but if you would rather have your own holiday then there are so many other beautiful hotels and villas around Kamari.

Its right on the beach and is very family friendly for those bringing children.

One of our other recommendations for this area would be 'Kamari Beach Hotel'. Its reasonably priced and in a great location.

There are some lovely villa's in this area too for those looking to share accommodation with others.

Perissa is very similar to Kamari in that it is beachy and family friendly. Although it looks close to Kamari, there is a large mountain separating the two areas so it is about a 15 minute car journey between the two areas.
